I know some people give Coldplay a lot grief because of their superstar status and their mega hits, but they are actually a really cool band. I highly recommend their newest effort, Mylo Xyloto. It’s a great album if you’re looking for a complete musical experience. Check out one of my favorite tunes, “Major Minus.”
Live Vibes: Gary Clark Jr. – Bright Lights
Gary Clark Jr. is a young gun-slinger from Austin. While mixing many classic styles of music together, Clark finds a way to modernize all of his grooves. Clark currently has just a few EP’s to his name, but claims to be working on a new full length album. Do you dig this blues/rock jam enough to consider it Earworthy? Only you can decide!
Live Vibes: My Morning Jacket – Smokin’ From Shootin’
This is a great live performance by My Morning Jacket, one of my favorite up-and-coming groups. The song that’s featured is “Smokin From Shootin” off their 5th album Evil Urges. Also posted is a picture of lead singer, Jim James, on an episode of Fox’s American Dad . The episode is cleverly titled “My Morning Straightjacket” and features quite a number of MMJ songs. Check it out!
Is this live performance of “Smokin From Shootin” Earworthy?
Earworthy?: Alabama Shakes – Hold On
Alabama Shakes are a new Southern Rock band with a lot of soul. Hailing from the deep south of the United States, Alabama Shakes have a wonderful raw and honest quality about them that only southerns know how to produce. Lead singer, Brittany Howard, does a killer job channeling great rock singers of the past, while still adding her own soulful touch to the mix. I definitely dig their groove, but only you can decide if they are Earworthy.
Earworthy?: Walk off the Earth – From Me To You (cover)
Earworthy? Two Door Cinema Club – Undercover Martyn (kind of old school week)
And she spoke words of wisdom
To the basement people, to the basement
Many surprises await you
In the basement people, in the basement
You hid there last time, you know we’re gonna find you
Sick in the carseat, cause you’re not up to going
Out on the main streets, completing your mission
You hid there last time, you know we’re gonna find you
Sick in the carseat, cause you’re not up to going
Out on the main streets, completing your mission
And she spoke words that would melt in your hands
And she spoke words of wisdom
To the basement people, to the basement
Many surprises await you
In the basement people, in the basement
You hid there last time, you know we’re gonna find you
Sick in the carseat, cause you’re not up to going
Out on the main streets, completing your mission
You hid there last time, you know we’re gonna find you
Sick in the carseat, cause you’re not up to going
Out on the main streets, completing your mission
You hid there last time, you know we’re gonna find you
Sick in the carseat, cause you’re not up to going
Out on the main streets, completing your mission
You hid there last time, you know we’re gonna find you
Sick in the carseat, cause you’re not up to going
Out on the main streets, completing your mission
